Dynastar Contact Cross vs. Contact 4x4

Very particular question.  I have a pair of Contact 4x4's that I skied last two years.  However, I've always felt they were a lot of work.  I like the performance generally and the feel a lot...but I think they could be quicker and easier to ski.  I'm moving into fewer days rather than more, and that exacerbates the burliness of the 4x4's.  Recently, I found (without looking) a pair of new Contact Cross skis at a very good price.  Is it worth it to move?  Are the Cross like the 4x4 but easier and quicker, like I think?  Keep the signature feel of Dynastar?  I have other, soft snow skis, so these would be only for eastern hardpack and groom.

Thanks.

I have the 4x4's and love them, but I'm also a bigger guy.....dunno what your size is.  I spoke with a fellow who had the Cross and he said essentially what you describe: they're nearly the same but less work.  Also lower speed limit as a result because they're not as stiff, but still a very similar Dynastar feel.

I'm not sure the Cross would be "quicker".  Edge to edge, or top speed? Maybe quicker, in the sense they're less work, so they feel easier to move around after several runs and being a bit less tired/demanding?  But quicker, as in actual speed, I very much doubt it.

But for East Coast, I think the Cross should work very well for you.  And if you can get them at a great price, I'd say jump on them.
