115mm brake on 94mm ski.

115mm brake on 94mm waist ski. Is this an OK setup? Just picked up a new set of skis and assumed the brake would be a closer match. I did not notice until I got home. Looks funny to me and would think this may inhibit the ski from functioning properly at times. Hoping its not a big deal and I can forget about it.

A 100 mm brake would fit nicely.

A 90 mm brake that is bent out would fit as well.

See if you could trade your brakes for something smaller.  Most shops would rather have a larger brake to sell rather than a smaller one sitting around.

These are  FKS turntable heel. So I think I am going to have to replace the whole binding as I cannot find just the brake. I did not specify which size 90 or 115, but I would think a 90mm slightly bent would be a better setup.

Is the problem so severe that you would need new bindings? I don't understand what the real downside of having the brake a little too big is.

The brake would drag when the ski's on edge because it wouldn't tuck in enough, that's the downside.

Went back and returned binding this morning. Had to upgrade to more expensive FKS as they were out of the 90mm in my model. Glad they were cool, thought I was gonna be stuck with brakes that stuck out almost 1/2".
