patrolling out west vs east

Anyone have experience beginning their patrolling career in the East and moving out west and patrolling? How was the transition? How do western patrols take in eastern ski patrollers?

I hire from the East on occasion.

Usually the medical skills are excellent from lots of practice and depending on which area they are from, the transition from hard and icy to softer and deeper is much easier than the other way around.

The avalanche work takes time for anyone to master.

All in all a lot of my best patrollers have started in the East.
