Stowe Lodging

Any recommendations on decent, not too expensive lodging for Stowe?  Wife and I are heading up there Feb 13 - 18, hoping the conditions are reasonably decent.  We don't' want anything extravagant at all - clean, quiet, hot tub, and breakfast on-site is a plus.

Stoweflake is pretty darn reasonable. Start there.

Thanks Epic....my wife mentioned one the other day she was looking at...Stowehoff or something like that.  Any comments on that?

I've stayed at the Stowe Motel and Snowdrift a bunch of times.  Clean, quiet, on the less expensive end of the lodging spectrum for Stowe village.

Be sure to check out www.gostowe.com for any available deals, etc.

Pretty nice. If I remember correctly, it's like being inside a cuckoo clock. Nice food too. Haven't been there in years though.

Second GoStowe.com. From what I remember, it will give you a list of all the hotels and prices for your dates so you can easily compare. Good site.

I liked the Innsbruck Inn a lot when I stayed there. Nice rooms, Alpine inspired architecture, a hot tub outside, and stay came with breakfast and "apres snack" (think it was hot cider, cheese and crackers).

Only thing was the price kind of fluctuated a lot. First time I stayed there in '05, it was really cheap - like $65/night. The next year it was jacked nearly double. Don't know if it was the dates (I believe both stays were around the same time of year - non-holiday) or if they realized they were underpriced and got things in line.

Did a quick check (http://www.innsbruckinn.com/) because I was curious, looks like you can get a room for a little over 100 bucks and they have a bunch of specials. Still have the apres snack, too.

we're going up next weekend and i booked our lodging through www.gostowe.com .  we got a room at the auberg de stowe (a b & b in the lowe village) for $99/nite.  haven't stayed there before but it got good reviews.  if you are in to b & b's, you may want to check out the fiddler's green inn.  it's right next to the matterhorn and it's super close to the mountain.

Golden Eagle Resort or if you don't mind driving 20 minutes the Best Western in Waterbury is nice and right next to Ben & Jerry's factory.

Stayed at the Golden Eagle last year with the kids - they liked it a lot and we're going back in March since they'll want to stay at the same place.  My wife and I are going up the week of Valentine's day for a few days on our own - ended up getting a room at the The Arbor Inn farther up the road -- looked nice, got good reviews, had a stay three nights get one free deal or something like that.
