B.C. Selkirk Wilderness and Big Red Cats

From a week ago today, our crew hits Selkirk Wilderness Adventure.  Located about 2 hours north of Nelson, SWA looks to be a killer location.  I say looks because again, I missed out on this.  I did manage to get to Big Red Cats last Thursday and Friday and the second video is from last Thursday.  Unfortunately, every aspect got hit by big winds on Wednesday so the fresh was wind affected everywhere we went.  Still, it was a good time but the snow was a little tricky, especially the first day which is the video shown below.  As always, Kieran, Paula, Seb, Tash, and Chris made the couple of days fun, even if the snow wasn't blower.  As you watch the SWA video though, you'll see what I missed by not being there when the goods were available.  Here's what we found last week:

Selkirk Wilderness Adventure:

Love your videos!  I am definitely going to have to get up to one of these cat/heli ski operations in the next couple of years.

Thanks for posting! Great videos as always. Looks pretty good at BRC, even if you didn't get blower.

Conditions sure look epic up at SWA/Meadow Creek. Hope this week has been kind to them, at White Grizzly on Sat-Tues this weekend.

I've got to believe it's going to be stellar at WG and SWA, especially after yesterday's storm.  It's been going off the past three weeks!  Don't get me wrong on BRC, it was still really good.  The second day was even better as it was cold overnight and sucked some moisture out of the snow and loosened up the wind-effect a bit.  Maybe I'm just spoiled biggrin.gif and was hoping for the same conditions as they'd had all week.  I'm sure that, at this point, it's all really good up there right now.  Thanks for your comments and have a great time!

Hey! Rachel from Selkirk Wilderness Skiing here (so it's actually SWS, not SWA! Easy mistake, no worries!). Sorry you didn't make it here with the rest of the Peak Productions crew the other week, but glad you had a good time at Big Red Cats, regardless of the wind. Thanks for posting those videos; hope we see you up here at SWS some time in the near future!

^^^  Definitely on my list, now!  It was before, too but schedule conflicts kept me away.  Everybody thought your operation was top notch in all ways there.  Hope to see you there soon!

Rachel:  By the way, sorry on the name.  It's now ingrained in my mind:  Selkirk Wilderness Skiing SWS    Got it!

Yeah, I heard about that.  My condolences to the family and to SWS.  I understand it's their first in 37 years of operation.  Sad for all involved.
