best first-timer heli skiing

Thread Starter

for my 18th birthday, the 'rents are talking about taking me heli skiing. what's your suggestion for a place for 1st time heli skiers? i'm not a beginner or anything--i like a good challenge--but i don't want a run so difficult I can't have fun on it, if you know what I mean..

I'd love to ski somewhere in alaska or europe, but canada or somplace like that would still be awesome. I'd like suggestions for anywhere!!!

thanks in advance.

CMH has a good powder 101 program or head up to AK with Chugach Powder Guides in Girdwood.

You're one lucky soon to be 18-year-old.  I sure hope you show your parents some appreciation for that!

Lucky you - wish I had parents like that. BC has the most reliable heli-ski terrain, tons of snow and very few down days which equals more skiing. Steeps, trees, glaciers and lots of POW....it is all there. CMH has some Next Gen trips as well.

Good call on the Next Gen trips....catered to 15-25 year olds and MUCH cheaper.
