OK, I'm bored with all the "no snow" discussion so far, so....I need some clarity on terms that are used here concerning skis.
1) what is difference in "feel" b/w GS and slalom skis? Some folks reference this as if we're supposed to know. AFAIK, GS skis generally have less sidecut and are designed for faster, longer-radius turns. Slalom generally more sidecut and for shorter-radius turns. But what is this flex discussion? "Feel"? Slalom has stiff tails? GS is more even flex? Huh? Please inform us and explain significance for us mere mortals.
2) what do you all mean by a "cheater" ski -- either GS or slalom? Occasionally, someone will suggest getting a "cheater" ski. Huh? Discuss.
Those who know, please tell. Given the generally crappy conditions everywhere, you can't all be skiing. .
