I'm looking for a comparison of these 2 skis in the 174 length. I've had some time on the Supersonics and really enjoy them. I picked up a pair of Phoenix's for cheap, but will be replacing the bindings, so I won't be skiing them right away. I'm skiing in the Mid-Atlantic, so ice and hard manmade snow is the norm. My skiing style favors fast long radius carves, but will mix it up occasionally as well.
Hart Phoenix and Blizzard Supersonic - has anybody skied both?
I own the Hart Phoenix (2010) in 174cm. I have demo'd the Blizzard Supersonics. Both are great skis, so IMO it's more a question of what kind of "feel" you like in your skis. When I demo'd the Supersonics, I found them to be "tip and rip" machines. They really hooked up quickly and danced from turn to turn. When I took them into some bumps, I found them to be a little too hooky for my taste. Since I own the Phoenix, you know which one I liked more. I felt that the Phoenix, while certainly lacking nothing in performance and stability, was just a bit more "fun" in its feel. It was also better in bumps for me.
Not sure what your weight and skill level might be, and that will also play into the picture. I am 165' and upper Level 7, so definitely not an expert. Overall, I don't think you can go wrong with either ski ... for me it was ultimately about the playful feel of the Harts.
Hope this helps a little.
