we just booked our lodging yesterday and the long range forecast looks promising!  we can't wait to return to stowe. is anyone going to be around then?

also, i saw that the shed closed (bummer)....any other good places to hit up?

Lots of good places. The Crop (took over The Shed space) as been getting excellent reviews. Piecasso for pizza, but they have other great iteams too. Matterhorn for that first beer and wings.

I live here and help run the ski school so I can be easily found. Usually somewhere near the private lesson sign.

Have a great trip and feel free to come say hi.

I hope you are right about the forecast.

Be sure to hit Frida's for some Mexican.

thanks for the suggestions.  last year, we went to the shed and some other mexican resturant (cactus something or another...can't remember the name).

and def keeping those fingers crossed re: the weather.  it would be great to get some fresh snow that weekend... gonna do some more snow dances ;)

Snow is definitely starting to build now. SKied the right side of Upper Goat today (this never happens) and had shin deep pow in the woods. Keep working on the snowdances though, rain forecast for Wednesday, but lets think of it as the base-building kind and not the snow-eating kind.

I think it is Cactus Cantina on the mountain road. I usually get there when I am at Stowe but will put Frida's on my list too.

Cactus Cafe on the mountain road. I usually stop there when I am at Stowe, but I'll give Frida's a try next time. And +1 for Piecasso.

+1 for Crop Restaurant, cool menu and amazing update of the Shed interior.

http://www.cropvt.com/the-bistro-menu/  try the bacon bourbon cocktail. The food is exceptional, service is still a bit slow and disorganized. Take your time and enjoy the amazing selection of regional craft brewed beer, or wine selection... or bacon infused Maker's Mark bourbon.

O'grady's has taken over for the Shed as a local's choice for post-work beer, with surprisingly excellent food at a reasonable price. The Irish Nachos are a popular choice.

The Hourglass bar in the Stowe Mountain Lodge is a fun place to mingle, reminds me of hopping fences to access hot tubs in Vail back in the early 90's. I feel like I'm trespassing, but it's nice.
