So, just got the 2012 dalbello cross in 26.5 however its super tight around my forefoot (especially the left which is a bit wider) and slightly short but I could live with the length.
Have not skied them yet so I took them back to the fitter I was working with to re-assess my options. Now this is what i'm looking at:
1. Punch the shit out of the Cross shell
2. FT First Chair
When I put my foot into the 26 cross shell my feet are basically touching the sides around my forefoot. I'm tempted to just go for the 27.5 Cross but it feels slightly too long and when they pack out I fear they will be way to sloppy. According to this fitter the 27 FT is slightly shorter and wider than the Cross.
Any major drawbacks to the FT other than buckles and such? I don't know much about punching boots...is it bad to widen the shit out of the shell? Maybe 3-5 mm? I'm tempted to try to punch the Cross shells and some intuition liners. Or maybe go with the 27.5 Cross and try to take up space with a thick Intuition?
I can't afford to buy boots for a long time after this so i'm really trying to make the right choice...any help would be very appreciated!
