Last width vs. foot width?

I was reading about the Flexons and wanted to give them a whirl next time I see a pair of Full Tilts. But then someone noted they're pretty narrow. Looking on their web site it seems they have two sizes now, one with a wider 102 mm last.

So I measured my foot, at its widest its 105. But does that really mean anything? The problem I always have is that I'm pronated and have a huge lump on the side of my left foot especially. It's not so much that the boots aren't wide enough, but they're not wide enough in the right place.

So should I expect a 102 mm last to fit a 105 mm foot? Or is there no way to know for sure?

To put this in perspective, there isn't a single skate that fits me, my boots were blown twice and I still can't close the buckles, and every shoe I have owned splits at the instep.

impossible to knowfor sure without seeing and measuring your foot.

that being said, based on your comments about other footwear, it sounds like you have a honking big foot, i would recommend that you find a good boot fitter with a large selection of boots for you to try on.

making advice/comments about one brand or model of boot for you to try over the internet without assessing your foot is generally not met with success.

Actually I'm only a size 8.5, but I guess it's all about the proportions.

honking big foot refers to dimensions, not length. the fact that you are an 8.5 and cannot close the buckles on your skates or the laces on your shoes, means that your instep is as big as my head!!!!!

find a bootfitter with a large selection of fit options.
