Hey guys, this is my first post on this forum. :)

I was just wondering where some of the good cliff areas were in Beaver Creek. I am vacationing there in February.

Thanks a lot!

Welcome to Epicski.

I skied a couple days last week at Beaver Creek.  There are some double diamond expert's chutes on the far lookers left of the trail layout called the Stone Creek chutes.  I'm told they feature some tight chokes.  There are also some steep glades off Grouse Mtn towards the center of the trail network.  Neither of these spots was open last week and I was not able to check these areas out, although I skied open stuff near them and saw some fun steeps including a nice bump run with good snow even last week just below Stone Creek called Ripsaw.  They are supposedly in for lots more snow in coming days and the expert stuff should be open for your visit.  From my perspective BC is a pretty big ski area with something for everyone.  For a place with a posh reputation I was surprised at how cheaply you can stay in Avon and catch free shuttle to slopes.

Stone Creek chutes would be to the left out of view of this picture:

Just a heads up that a lot of the locals might not want to share their favorite places to keep them secret wink.gif

As said above there are many cliff spots in the stone creek chutes.  There are also a few smaller cliff spots in the royal elk glades.  Both of these runs are not yet open this year.

Vail has the cliff spots you seek - blue sky basin.  There is no radness at beaver creek.

Don't expect anything epic. They just opened the back a couple days ago.

Variable conditions exist.
