I found an uncredited picture (at 06:15 of the KLAUS video) that I'm hoping someone has some information about.  The guy in the middle is smiling with his vintage style wooden FAT SKIS that may be slightly ROCKERED as well.  What do you think?

They were the same width as all the others in the video. The tips are pretty high rise though!

My dad used fat rockered skis.

They were called barrel staves and held on with straps.

Depression era skiing at its finest.

Do you have any pictures?  I remember people talking about barrel staves but I don't think I actually saw anybody using them.  What did you think of the skis at 6:15?

Check out the rocker on the barrel staves.

This Head ad is ca. 1965

I guess we have gone a full circle on skis with both transverse and longitudinal rocker.

The skis at 6:15 are really unique for the period.  Does anyone have any other pics of pre 1990's Fat Boards?

We are still looking for other vintage photos of unique or fat skis.  Got any?

The skis photoed in Klaus's video at minute 6:15 are a very traditional Norwegian design.  Many boards were shaped similar to the ones shown with bulbous tips.  I have seen hundreds of antique skis from different countries/regions with this design.   Many would also include a slight rocker.  I'll try to take a few photos of some examples and post them when I'm off shift.
