Thanks, I'll keep that under advisement.

Took my daughter over to Snowbird today since Mineral Basin was clearly going to be softened up pretty early on in the morning.  She's reached the stage where nothing over there was going to scare her at all.  Didn't realize Peruvian lift and tunnel closed after April 8.  She wanted to do the tunnel.  But the tram ride up was good enough to make her happy.  Learned from a friendly mother how to get a kid on first thing so that we could be up front with a view.

For a last day, it was a great spring skiing day.  Complete with a great picnic in the snow put on by Alta Lodge for guests willing to ski over towards Supreme.

Hope those around later in the week get some more snow. Have fun!

Sounds nice! Hope you had a great trip. I would love to stay at Alta Lodge some day!

It was a fun late season trip with everything: too warm but soft and good in the morning, too cold and frozen all day except on Supreme groomers, just right with 12 inches of fresh powder that lasted well into the next afternoon, then blue bird warm spring skiing.

I'm completely hooked on spending a week at Alta Lodge in April, regardless of the weather predictions.  Have had at least a day of fresh powder most trips since we started going regularly in 2008.  Started by meeting up with friends, but have since made friends because everyone who stays there is relaxed and sociable.

It's dumping snow now. 13 inches in the last 24 hours. I think they are expecting another 4-7 this afternoon. Had my first tram ride today. Tough to see at the top, but some awesome powder. Chip's Run is a leg burner.

Don't want to know. hissyfit.gif  If the storm had started a day or two sooner, something tells me my daughter would not have made it back to school this week.  But at least I know my friends who arrived at Alta Lodge yesterday are having a much better time than expected just a week ago.  Just as you are!

Happily for those who are still around, today was a remarkably good face-shot day at Alta.  Who would've thunk?  The powder also lasted longer than usual since there aren't a lot of visitors in town.  Tomorrow may be equally good as Backside, Ballroom/Baldy Shoulder and maybe even the Castle are opened.

The little powder dumptruck was out!
