Hoping to get some thoughts on what I might be doing wrong when skiing powder.
I constantly feel like I'm about to fall forwards or backwards while skiing deep powder (30cm+) like my skis suddenly slow down and speed up again making me all "wobbly" and I'm fighting to stay balanced. This is when I try to ski fairly fast. If I go pretty slow I don't have much of an issue but then it's not much fun either.
If I had to guess myself, I'm thinking it may be because I'm standing too straight and not bending my knees enough to get good balance if that makes sense. The reason for this is I think my legs may not be strong enough to keep that position for very long and when especially when getting pushed around by the deep snow a bit. So it may be that I just have to work on strengthening my legs/core.
I'm 5'11, 165lbs, skiing on 184cm Salomon Rocker 2s.
