26.5 liner in a 27.5 shell.

Got 2 pairs of the same boots... When the proper liners in each shells the 27.5 is too big.. The 26.5 seems a little tight in the toes (specifically pinky).

I took the 26.5 liner, and put it in the 27.5 shell.. It feels pretty good, but I am worried about the results after a few days on the slopes.

What are your thoughts?

Bad Idea? That's my first thought.  The 26.5 liner will stretch to fill the shell of the 27.5 which is obviously the wrong size. Do a shell fit and see which shell fits, work off that.

thats what I figured would happen, wasn't sure how far a liner would stretch.

I did a shell fitting, I definitely have 1/2-3/4 behind my heal.

My areas of concern are my pinky toes, which seem a little tight. When I stand up straight, my big toe presses decent on in the front of the shell. Also, the width in general could be a little larger. This is all when the liner is in.

If we are saying the liner will fill out the shell then I should be fine?

You may need a grind or stretch to get it perfect but that is par for fine tuning to achieve the best fit!

how does the 27 liner feel in the 26 shell?  that is about what the boot will feel like in the end

not sure what you mean... will a 27 liner even fit in a 26 shell?

the 26 liner in the 27 shell felt great.

When I am in the 26 shell/liner, if I stand up straight shot my big toe hit the front?

and if you flex does the toe pull back away form the end?

sounds like the 26 is perfect, may need a little bit of work, and have you got a footbed in there yet? that will help reduce any elongation and stabilise your foot making it a little shorter...check this out in person with a boot fitter if you are unsure, but form what you say i would be putting the 27 on e bay or using them as door stops

The 26.5 shell is out.. Now its whether I keep the 26.5 liner for the 27.5 shell or go with the 27.5 liner. 26.5 liner feels snug in length and width.

sorry to sound dumb but why???

several people have told you that the 26.5 shell is the correct size yet you choose to ignore the advice, can you explain your thought process so we understand why you think that 4 industry specialists are all wrong
