Only my daughter's skis get base burn - How Come?

I tune 4 sets of skis.  K2 Recons, Elan Slalom Skis, Atomic Cloud 7 and Volkl Unlimited.  The Volkls are 2010 version new at the end of last season, which were waxed for the summer and then re-waxed for the season and every 3 days.  They are 140 CM.  How come they are the only ones to get base burn?  And so quickly?

Just a thought. I could be wrong. The Volkl Unlimited may use a lower quality base that does not hold as much wax.  Less or no wax may cause more friction which may cause base burn.

At 140 they are kid's skis and probably use a cheaper base material than the other skis so they are not absorbing as much wax as the others. I am a routine waxer (2 days max) for my skis. But I stopped waxing a set of kids Atomic 140 (Race 6, Bode Miller) a year or 2 ago and did not see any noticeable impact. Now that they have been outgrown, I'll wax them before the fall ski swaps just for the cosmetic contribution to a sale.

Had a Race Chaser tell me that my burn base marks on my speed skis were unique to the way i skied. Any one else have a similar experience?
