The K2 Pontoon and the Demo Binding

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have a question unanswered by the search function about a pair of skis I just picked up. I usually consider myself quite knowledgeable but I am lacking here. I just bought a pair of 09/10 Pontoons on Ebay for $300, they are in surprisingly good condition and I can't wait to get out of Florida on the 28th and over to Chamonix, where it looks like I will need them!

Here is the question: The skis came with Salomon Z12ti demo bindings, they are also in good shape. Can I / Should I take off the demo's? Can these bindings be mounted back with out the demo plates? Should I just man up and buy another binding?  Does it hurt the structural integrity of the ski to be drilled more then once?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Sean

I wouldn't bat an eye skiing powder on demo bindings.  They may be a little heavier, but other than that should perform just fine for deep snow.  My question would be do you have another ski to use on groomers if it doesn't snow while you are there?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it....

Sounds good! I will also be taking my Coombas, which are my go to everyday ski. I've got them mounted with Dukes and they have been outstanding now for the last 2 seasons!
