Some post-storm skiing in the Hakuba area from the past few days.

Its snowing again as I write  this, so tomorrow should be good again.

I'll try to add more stoke as the season continues.

Wow,  I've been hearing great things about Japan's ski conditions this seasons.  Looks like its living up to the reports.  Thanks for sharing.

Agree. Nice video. Sweet looking snow. And my favorite skis biggrin.gif

Actually looks a little thin compared to normal, but normal is pretty crazy compared to about anywhere other than Mt. Baker. Thanks for the vid! Brings back many great memories.

Sweet !

Really nice video.

Interesting watercrossing technique with wrapping the boots in plastic.

Snow looks pretty windblown.

Isn't Hakuba where they had the gs for the Nagano Olympics?

Downhill. The great thing is, the ski area lifts go to 1650m*. The mountains go to 3000m. What's above the lifts is big and there for those who are willing to hike.

* The DH course went a bit higher to meet FIS requirements for length and a lift was built causing much rancor because several laws where allegedly violated in it's construction.

I still think the Nagano Olympics were one of the best ever. Despite CBS's efforts at times to make them a snoozer with the likes of Jim Nantz and the production.

Tim Ryan as the ski announcer was excellent though.

The Downhill, in prime time on the US east coast was incredible. A lot of people who never had seen skiing, got a look at Maier's famous crash.

It's interesting also in that straight skis were still used for slalom and shaped for gs.
