1st Slalom Ski - Need Advice

I'm an advanced skier skiing SoCal (frontside groomers). I love to carve so I'm in the process of buying my first set of slalom skis and I need some advice. I'm 6'3", 185 lbs and looking at used 172 cm Atomic Metron b5s with bindings or a new, 2008/2009 year model, 165 cm Volkl Racetiger SLs. These are undrilled with no race plates or bindings. I'm not a racer and don't plan on being one so these are for aggressive carving, performance and fun. Price difference is not an issue so the question is which one and why? Also, if I were to go with the Volkls, what type of plate and bindings would you recommend? (Marker?). Thanks for your help.

The Metron B5 is not a SL ski so, I would go for the Volkl.

I know that the Race Tiger is a full on SL race ski and the b5 is an advanced carver but the turn radius of both skis is very close. Can you explain the difference from a performance standpoint?

I never skied the Volkl, but the Metron is ultra stiff and best suited for really heavy skiers. They were a sensation a few years back because they were so wide and yet had a really tight radius, until people woke up to the fact that a ski should flex too. :)

I never read anything bad about the Racetiger skis however.
