Sounds like Red Mountain, BC has a deal going. http://www.firsttracksonline.com/2012/01/06/red-mountain-offers-free-skiing-to-all-americans/ Read this but have not researched it. Read more at your own risk.
After reading lots threads about, 'do I bail on a Colorado or Utah trip'; this just seemed like a pretty good alternative. Red Mountain is a really good mountain with world class tree skiing when the snow is there. Rosland BC is a very cool little mining turned ski town. These places are not the biggest or the best in Canada but the will keep you entertained for a few days. This has been a ski town for about 50 years, so they do it well. It is kind of a Crested Butte, Steamboat, 25 years ago sort of place. If you do not know Red, search for threads here on EPIC about the place; you will find lots good stuff about the place.
I can't get off to catch this program due to work, but would like to. I have not skied there this year either but their snow will be a lot like Schweitzer, and terrain will not disappointed an advanced skier.
