Skis scratched my back window!

Thread Starter

Looking for some advice. My girlfriends sister opened the back of my Jeep to fast while the skis were in the roof rack. This left a little metal mark in the glass that I can't seem to get rid of. I normally wouldn't care but we just bought the car! Any suggestions on how to remove the mark? I'm sure somebody out there has had this problem! Thanks for any help!

If the glass itself isn't scratched, try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser or some stainless steel cleaner/polish (ex. Lagostina).

call the dealer, if new they may give you a freebie (doesn't work if it's new to you but used) or call a detail shop, i'm sure they'll be happy to tell ya.  if scratched, an autoglass shop might be able to fill/polish with whatever they use for repair of bulls eyes

I had something similar happen and used a glass polisher, but the scratch wasn't very deep.  It worked okay, but I don't remember the brand I used.  This place sells a product for that, but I have no idea if it works well.

If it's a deep scratch there are resin fillers.  You may want to bring it to a glass shop and have them look at it.
