looking for 4X4 replacement

Spent the last week out at Copper - not the greatest of ski vacations this time around, but conditions were OK to nice in places.  Spent most of the time skiing on my son's Dynastar Contact 4 X 4's in a 172 length (last year's version).  Really, really like this ski.  Couldn't test it's off-piste capabilities, but for a front-side oriented all mountain ski, this is one of the best I've skied in years.  I'd steal it from my son except at 172, it's too short for me.  I'd go out and buy the 178 in a heartbeat, but unfortunately, Dynastar stopped making this model and I haven't seen even a used 178 for sale.

So, for those of you that are familiar with the 4 X 4, which ski from this year's crop would be most like the 4 X 4?  Any suggestions?

I have the 4x4 and love it. I just attended a demo day. The ski that was closest to the Dynastar, I thought, was the Elan waveflex 82 XTi Amphibio.  I still like the Dynastar more.

It took a bit, but thanks to this thread and the viral king I did find a great buy on a 178 4x4. My brother has been skiing them a TON this season rolleyes.gif and loves them so much I'm kind of looking for a pair for myself.  (In fact, we were at Copper last week, too, and he was on them. And wearing a helmet, to boot! Seriously, since about 1984 he has spent 97% of his time on teles, and a helmet? Really?)

(But instead of buying more aka appropriate skis I'm taking that money and road-tripping to Jackson Hole this weekend ...)

Did a bit more research online last night too.  Thanks, Seg, for the link.  Anyone able to make some comparisons of the 4X4 to the Blizzard Magnum 7.6?
