Ask a Ski Pro, which was my brainchild, failed because it was not really supported by the owners of this site. It was basically pulled because the Instructors in the higherarchy wouldn't participate. Why? Because they didn't want to give out information for nothing. Thus the ESA was pushed at the time as a way for Insider instructors to offer direct instruction to the forum regulars and members and combine a meeting with instruction involved. Deemed a bargain to some but a failure to others.
I distinctly remember argueing the fact with a few biggies who wouldn't want to make a habit of giving out information about ski instruction and tips, as I suggested a tip of the week section where an instructor could give a tip of the day, or week in a protected enviornment for follow up discussion. That was also nixed because people wouldn't give information for nothing.
So now the answer is for pushing instruction for a cost at the Gathering when there are alot of people available to have a good time meeting and skiing with Epic Ski owners and instructors who are still trying to involve paid instruction to those who attend instead of just genuinely trying to help those who support the Forums and pay for supportership for the sake of improving their abilities.
It all ends up being about the money instead of the goodness of the heart.
Wow, Lars. Unfortunately, I am certain you believe that.
Truth is, it is not the case.
