She doesn't need a helmet because there isn't anything under that hat that warrants protection from running headfirst into a large tree/lift tower/building/bison/elk.

Rental skis? And is it weird if I am wondering how well her boots actually fit? Surely those aren't rentals, too? Did the boots ever step into the bindings?

It's all just for show.  She even walks in the backseat, imagine how she would ski.eek.gif

I like rich blondes without fur.

Is it weird? I thought the kitten thing was weird....Probably 1 1/4 inch shell fit? We could probably determine it with some of the people here and learning her shoe size.

Hilton Hits the Slopes at Sundance

Paris is learning.

By Jada Yuan

Published Jan 27, 2008  New York Magazine

Is Paris Hilton a good skier? That was a question at last week’s Sundance Film Festival. When she wasn’t draping herself in swag, dodging snowballs from passersby, and throwing parties to promote her nearly straight-to-DVD movie The Hottie and the Nottie—not quite Sundance fare—she apparently found time to hit the Park City slopes.

“Oh, I’m really good,” Hilton reported at the Fred Segal gifting lounge (conveniently located next to the chair lift). “I’ve been skiing since I was 3. We skied black diamonds and double black diamonds.”

But was she telling the truth? Later, she was overheard telling a rep for Spyder, the skiwear manufacturer, that she’d taken a lesson the day before. And an expert skier who’d spotted her posing for photos at the top of the mountain in a pink-and-white bedazzled outfit watched her ski away and described her as “an advanced wedge turner.” A few days later, a stylist who’d nearly crashed into her on the mountain wasn’t even that generous. “Crap skier,” he said.

How about a little vid?

Though this is titled "Skiing", she's on a snowboard.

Also it appears she actually had a helmet at Whistler in '09.

Why? (Actually, I read the article, and the outfit -- the clothing -- is hers, and it was 2 years old! A gift from someone. Worn before, in public!) I just thought people with (a) lotsandlotsandlots of cash, or (b) the need to appear to have lotsandlotsandlots etc would definitely buy. I'm not picturing Paris Hilton putting her feet in rental boots, lol. She does say she's "a skier," been doing this for a lonnnngggg time.

Seg, you NEED these pants- and they're on sale.......

a lot of celebs are given the clothes to be seen in public, some request that they return.   BTW- I am sure the boots are dialed in

Yeah, except I don't see a SKI company wanting the same publicity from Paris Hilton that Juicy Couture does .... lol. WHo knows. I can't believe I have wasted my ever-more-rapidly depleting brain cells wondering about this, either. roflmao.gif

Oh ... and the pants ... here's a good one: my neighbor owns a boutique here in town, and she knows I ski a lot, so she put this aside for me:  whaddaya think??

Didn't wear one freeskiing until I came across collision at Squaw about 8 years ago. 2 teenagers collided in terrain park and one hit his head on box afterwards. Made this old schooler a believer.

I, for one, believe Paris herself would proclaim....That's Hot!

......but does it come with a helmet???

Well, only a real man could pull that off so I am thinking you can make it work.....icon14.gif

OK, seriously, its a pretty cool outfit. I wouldn't necessarily wear it to AB but certainly Vail and the Beav'  biggrin.gif

Helmet color choice would be flat black or a nice burgundy. totally hot, totally...

Jimmy, I am sure you are just justin' trees' balls here since he is just too GNAR for us here, I suggest he post this very important thread over on TGR and I will be happy to cross-post the thread.  However, just to be clear there are few better bears than Don (Betsy being one biggrin.gif)  This man saved me from a vicious bear attack in Steamboat last summer and I am forever in his debt.

She's unconcerned about the Gaper Gap, or the sticker on the helmet. = Trend Setter

Gaper Gaps are in? or at least ok?

It's all about the safety.

Otherwise, helmet arguments vanish.

Would you wear a helmet with a 1 inch gaper gap? or go with a hat?

Those are ths same pants that Paris is wearing, no? The stars look fainter in Paris's, but maybe it's the photo.

White helment or metallic lady blue.

Ahh, so in the infamous words of Huey Lewis, "its hip to be Square"?

there are several different colors you can choose from but maybe she has worn them so much the color has faded?

If you are a parent you need to think about the safety of your child.  The parent needs to take responsibility and put a helmet on their child.  As for an adult wearing a helmet, it should be up to the individual.  You only have one noggin and it should be your choice what you want to do with it.  Protect it the best you can, or throw caution to the wind and hope you never have a wreck.  I now wear a helmet due to a friends ski accident.  We all think we are good skiers, but it just takes one bad turn and your life could change forever.
