Hostels or cheap, clean motels in southern and central Vermont?

I'd like to spend more of my money on skiing and food than on where I sleep - so as long as I can get some sleep somewhere I'm good. It doesn't need to be glamorous and extravagant!

So, unless you fine people can mention some great hotel / lift ticket packages, can you share with me any information you have regarding cheap places to sleep in Vermont?

In Lake Placid they have this place T-Map and Topos hiker's hostel - it's perfect - for like $30 a night you get a bed in a shared room in a big clean house, where you can meet interesting, like-minded people. Anybody know of similar places in Vermont?

Thanks!

Check out HostelHandbook.com--you can search by state/area. I believe there's one in Killington, but don't know anything about it. Grampa Grunt's in Jay Peak was exactly what you're looking for when I was there in '06, but that's pure northern VT.

Just checked the handbook--there's one in Bennington (not far from Mt. Snow) and Ludlow (Okemo) in addition to Killington and a couple other places I'm not familiar with.

One that I stayed at a long time ago at Okemo was the Combes Family Inn.  It was clean, and close to the mountain and the food there is very good.

Turn of the River Lodge in Killington.  Cheap beds in shared bunkrooms.
