So took a few laps with a photographer mate before work the other day, got some ones I liked, thought I'd share them with you guys. Niseko's been having an insane season, which is saying a lot considering how good it normally is. Anyone heading over this way?

I'm tempted to hop on a plane.  I'd kill for some ankle deep powder right now much less waist deep.

I'll be there January 28 doing a one week tour with Black Diamond Tours and then spending 10 days in Hakuba.  Keep the pics coming!

I hear that later in the year there will be free flight tickets available, no idea how they will be allocated though. My flights were much cheaper this year than previously. I think the tour operators will discounting pretty hard come February (after Chinese New Year peak time) as well.

There'll be, or was, an international competition to give 10,000 (iirc) free flights away. http://www.google.com/url?q=http://forums.ski.com.au/forums/ubbthreads.php%3Fubb%3Dshowflat%26Number%3D1472757&sa=U&ei=F2sBT7u2KIWdmQXFoKD1Cg&ved=0CAQQFjAA&client=internal-uds-cse&usg=AFQjCNGE-TcPoh7VRPITYM7KOyEo0Kyx3w

seriously, if I didn't have my mishap, I would be heading there this season for sure. I am hoping some bears will make the trip. JIm, what would a 7 or 10 day trip run someone?

Forget the 10,000 free airline tix, that wasn't funded in the budget (and probably was never more than a pipe dream anyway).

But the pre-xmas conditions were some of the best I've ever seen. Back up again next week. yahoo.gif

Nice! You should move this to Trip Reports so that it doesn't get pushed down into General oblivion. The more inspirational pow pics we have this winter, the better!

Really not sure to be honest. I fly from the UK so no idea how much flights from the US would be. Whilst you are here a 2 week Hirafu pass would be about 400 bucks, all mountain is more. Accommodation ranges from cheap backpacker through to high end, deals can be had after January I'd say. Lessons aren't cheap, 2 hours at my school runs to about $260, probably getting cheaper in Feb too though.

Took a few photos today,

For a few weeks in January, season pass holders get first lifts 30 mins earlier than normal, we were up early, there was a foot of fresh and it looked great.
