ski brakes for fischer railflex system

For quite a long  time I have been looking online for ski brakes for my fischer rx 9 skis / railflex 2 fx 12 bindings  but in vain, all I came across were mostly wide ski brakes.  Any tips or links from you would be nice! - do I have to search only for tyrolia railflex system binding brakes or do ski brakes from other manufactures would go as well?

Thank you in advance and happy holiday!

You will need brakes specific not only to Railflex but also to the type of Railflex binding. I know the Railflex RF bindings use a different brake than the RFD bindings (I learned this through trial and error and then confirmed it with the retailer I bought them from) and assume the LiteRail uses yet another brake. Check with levelninesports.com as they have a lot of Railflex stuff and can probably help you figure out what you need if you give them a call.

I have the same binding and was looking for narrow brakes too. I never called Levelnine but that sounds like a good idea. They sell new bindings with 78mm brakes.

I have contacted nine sport, but they did not help me much. But I have found some ski brakes for tyrolia rfd 12, do you know whether tyrolia rfd 12 binding brakes would go on my fischer railflex 2 fx 12 bindings, They look very alike!

I have the Tyrolia manual and there are many different brakes listed. The mounting pad shape changes for the different models so the brake from one model will not fit on another. People bend their brakes wider so you could bend them smaller too. Just cut off some of the end when you are done I think. Here is a link for how to do it. Warning! Do not heat the brake arm to make it easier to bend. I heated mine and it broke instead of bending. Good luck.

You could also post a WTB (want to buy) for narrow brakes here or on TGR but if you do be sure to include a picture of your brakes mounting pad to show what you are looking for.

Hey, I have the railflex 2 narrow brakes.  If you need them I can send them to you.  Maybe you can pay shipping.

I believe the fx12 is the same as the RFD12, based on a video I just saw about the fx12 saying it has a diagonal heel. The "D" in the "RFD" means it has the diagonal heel release. These are most likely the same binding and the brakes you found will work.
