High volume foot, 6' 5", and 245 expert skier, what boot?

My son in law needs new boots. He needs new boots. Given his height, weight, and length of his lower leg, he needs a stiff boot. Yesterday, we went boot shopping and tried most everything in a 120+ we could find: Lange Rx and RS 130, Nordica F1, Salomon X3 120, Technica inferno and demon 130, and the Bodacious 130. Of these, none of them were great, and the only ones that might have worked were the Bodacious (too tight in toe box and across the ankle) the Salomon (too tight in the achIlles when when flexing), and possibly the RX 130 (but didn't have it in his size - 28.5 - so may just be the size of the boot and he could easily crush the boot).

So, any suggestions of what else to try? He's thinking the bodacious, but is concerned that he'll beak the walk function given his size and some experiences with the boot.

the bodacious doesn;t have a walk mode?   but if you want something with walk mode, the cochise is 120 flex, and is a bunch stiffer outsde.   Its also 100mm vs the 98 on the bodacious so more room in the boot too.

most of what you tried on is 98mm shapes, can you find some 100mm that are stiff and try them?   impact,   krypton, cochise, etc?

loads of good boots on the list, but without seeing your feet it is impossible to say what one will fit you best, also in that sort of size the head raptor 130 RS (which runs 120-140 depending on how many bolts)

not sure what you meant about the RX130 about not available in his size but he may just crush it... the RX130 pro and the RS 130 are the same boot in different colours the RX130 is a 100mm last the pro or the RS i 97mm (although it comes up a bit wider) it may feel quite soft in the store but all these boots get stiffer in the cold

Salomon (too tight in the achIlles when when flexing),  Did you try the boot with a thin or ultra light weight sock?

None of the three sores in Boulder had a rx130 in a 28.5. Christys doesn't have one in Colorado. Yep, the boot was warm, but he is very big and athletic. He can't crush the bodacioous like he could be Rx.

my guess on the salomon is that with the boots forward lean and the suspected size of the calf muscle on a 245LB skier is that he ran out of range of motion at the ankle joint and were pulling at the achilles
