A little miracle before Christmas

Good morning.

So far this winter has been an epic fail. When it snowed, everything melted within several hours.

This week weather got colder and finally got below freezing level. Some hills got a couple inches of snow. Some started to make snow.

On friday morning I read that one of the hills opens that evening at 6 PM. I had some plans for that evening - had to pick Christmas trees, take it to another side of city and get some presents. I decided - if I'm done till 8PM, I'm going.

8PM - web cam checked -> NO LINES eek.gif

8:10 I started a car

9:15 Ski boots on. Picture from the parking place - still making snow

from parking place

9:23 On top of the hill... Wait a minute... What's with my bindings... Summer mode - all springs released. Carefully got down to ski rental and took a screwdriver. Everything to 7.5 now I'm ready to go.

Hill not deserted, but plenty of room for skiing.

At about 10:30PM it got warmer and started to rain... It was still freezing and the rain froze on helmets, jackets, cars, roads...

0AM - back to the car.

A very icy driving back home.

Had a great time, scraped off the summer wax and wiped off the summer dust from skis and myself.

And it's warm again... Heat record is expected to fall this Christmas hitting +9C.

Sometimes miracles happen. Sometimes miracles needs a man's help to happen. Try not to miss them and enjoy the day.

Merry Christmas, warmth at homes and hearts.
