Merry Christmas

Thread Starter

I haven't seen a thread that just wished everyone here a Merry Christmas, so I thought I'd send my wishes to you for a special holiday.  Whether you share it with someone special, your family or a lodge full of skiers, may you have a very merry white Christmas and a better new  year.  I hope we ski together soon.

Oh yeah!  Let it snow!

Christmas holds a special place in my heart when it comes to skiing. The first time I ever skied was on Christmas night at Camelback. I friend of my sisters, who was an instructor at Camelback took us up there for their free Christmas night ski. I fell in love with this great sport on that Christmas. Thanks Pat.

I got my first pair of skis on Christmas in 1963.  We went skiing the next day.  I hated it.  Since then I've changed my mind.

First time I ever went skiing was Christmas time too, 1967 at Blue Knob, PA.  I wonder if anyone here has a photo of the first time they ever skied back in the day?  It would have been fascinating to have saved a photo of the trail conditions at Blue Knob that December 1967. It was icy.  Their idea of a snowgun back then was about as sophisticated as a fire hydrant.  My age-addled memory pictures a three inch thick layer of blue tinted boilerplate.wink.gif

Happy Holidays to all.

Merry Xmas all!  It certainly has been for me, not a lift line in sight

Typing on a brand new notebook.  All the gadgets are hooked up and the basketball hoop is up out back.  Was going skiing Tuesday, but it is looking like rain.  Later in the week is still in play though.

Hope everyone is connecting with loved ones and also getting some turns somewhere..

Happy holidays to all!  I spent the day recovering from last night's patrol party...at our house.  Bourbon, tequila, green chile stew, farolitos, and dancing.  Back to skiing what seems to be one of the better snowpacks going tomorrow.

Not bad.  Not bad at all.

Our weather gauge measured winds up to 65 miles per hour this morning. Something's coming. Could it be Old Man Winter all got up in La Nina bunting?
