Elk Mountain, PA crisis?

The dispute between the mountain operator and the Village of the Four Seasons (the complex just beyond the parking lots) has come to a boil. In brief, if the mountain doesn't open the gate which allows foot access from the village to the lifts, the village will cut off the snowmaking pond water - the pond is in the village. A friend has owned a house in the Village for years, and skis there about 60 - 70 days a year, and absolutely hates the operator because of this, as does everybody else in the village. See below:

I wonder if there's more to this (of course there is...there's always something more), but this article makes it seem rather short-sighted by Elk.  I hope they solve their differences.

I understand from talking to some of the regulars at Elk that the owner is quite the eccentric. Elk is his play toy and he's going to do whatever he wants and if you don't like it you can go ski someplace else.


The feud between Elk and the condo owners has been simmering for some time.

oh great....this totally sounds like NEPA.  we'll see how this all turns out.
