Is The Giro G10 Helmet Bulky?

Hey folks,

Picking up my first helmet and trying to find something that's not too bulky.  Unfortunately the only store by me that carries the Giro G10 doesn't carry much else, so I can't directly compare it against the others.  When I put it on, it seems bulky.  I tried on the G9 at another shop (1/2 hour away) along with a Smith helmet and they seemed less bulky but slightly less comfortable, but it might just be all in my head. Since I can't compare them side by side, I'm not sure.

So, is the G10 bulkier than most other similar style helmets, or are they all about the same?

Thanks

The G10 fits a rounder head than say a Giro Seam or even a Smith Vantage/Variant. It is a matter of finding a helmet that fits your head. It is a shame that you do not have a good choice local to you but I am sure the ski areas that you frequent have a better selection. Go to where the skiers are, it is a matter of waiting till you go on your trip, then wait.

I'd say it's about average.  Not particularly bulky but not the sleekest either (but very comfortable for me anyway).  Look at my profile picture - that's a G10 on my head.

I own both the G10 and G9. I use the G10 during the spring when its easy to open top vents come in handy. The rest of the time I use my G9 since it is lighter than the G10 due to the G9 not having the lever activated vents. The G10 is relatively light compared to other helmets with built-in vents.
