What's going on with TGR Forums?

Thread Starter

Tried accessing it today and my browser (Google Chrome) stopped me warning of a virus threat. Not the first time this has happened to me either. Am I the only one this is happening to?

Hope bringing up TGR on EpicSki isn't a faux pas...

This always happens to me, I just go on it anyways.

Don't forget to allow the installation of that missing "required plug in"

this is a joke, don't ever do that without understanding why first.

The security explanation from Google was pretty complete. It looks like either malware code was embedded in an ad or popup, or else someone hijacked several pages in the site. Keep in mind that malware exploits are now possible through processes that used to be considered safe (having had to do a system restore three times in the last month because of a spurious AV program embedded in videos has made me a little more paranoid about malware). The site administrators at TGR are probably aware of this by now, and hopefully will be trying to scrub the server.

It happens from time to time.  On a mac, at least, you can ignore it and move on.  PC, not so sure.

used to just ignore it and everything was fine.  Now its crashing firefox

I don't think Firefox needs much help at crashing.  Amazing how they ran a good product right into the ground in just a few months.
