New Ski Boots: Breaking them in?

Hello,

I bought a my 1st pair of ski boots this past spring (Nordica speedmachine 110w). I went to a recommended boot fitter (through Epic Ski) and also got a custom insole since I have some feet/arch issues too. Well I FINALLY am getting around to do my boot homework and trying to "break" them in a bit prior to going skiing. As I sit here at my computer in my boots, my right boot - my toes are not "laying" flat. Almost seem too cramped. I know the boot will expand and I have tried stretching them back and forth while in them (excuse my novice terms) and also re-buckling and making sure the tongue is fully up prior to buckling, and it's the same. I know I won't get a real feel until I get out on the snow (when we get some snow on the Mountains), but am wondering if this is normal? Sitting in the boots (even standing) it almost feels like there is a pocket of air between my feet/toes and the shoe - like the liner wasn't inserted/molded properly? I don't recall this when I tried them on after I had them done but I've also been on my feet all day today.

Sorry for the rambling and I apologize if this is a silly question and just need to wait and see how they feel when I'm on the snow, just want to correct any problems I'm having now so I can maximize the time I spend out on the slopes!

Thank you in advance for any help, assistance or head shaking you can provide :)

Cheers,

Lisa

odds are it will be fine.   New or used boots are not meant for computer work.

dont worry, and look forward to your trip.   wear thin socks,  ski shorter days, and have fun

Thanks so much for your response. Sorry for my delayed rely! I've been skiing on them and they're feeling pretty good! I have no complaints other than those complicated buckles that spin twenty million different ways. Haha!

I guess you're right... they're not meant for computer work :)

Thanks again!

Cheers,

Lisa
