Have to Click Back Button Nine Times

I just noticed this today.  I'm using Firefox 3.6 on Linux.  From my home page, I click on my EpicSki link.  Once it's done loading, I click the browser's back button in order to go back to my home page.  It doesn't work until I hit the back button a total of nine times.  This is also reflected in the browser's little down-triangle menu.  I'm actually seeing this for all pages, including this one: New Thread in The Bug Report appears nine times in the menu as I'm typing this.

Same problem with Firefox 8.0 here.  Back button does not work but clicking navagation buttons is fine.  The back button malfunction appears to be on epicski only.

Interestingly, you see the eight Featured Sponsors disappear one at a time until, when they are finally all gone, the ninth click actually takes you back to the previous page. I'm guessing there is a connection.

Same problem. Experienced at work and home. Using Firefox at both locations. Started occuring after some site changes were being made.

Same here with Firefox. Doesn't happen with Opera though.

We've been here before.  For some reason, some browsers or connections allow "sponsors" (ads really) to tag along with the connection.  They don't necessarily pop up.  But they register.  So when you hit "Back", the browser goes to this address - but then doesn't show it.  I'm betting that if you look at the "history" list, you'll see 9 (or however many) ad addresses b/w the first page and the one you are on. 

I'm not enough of a computer geek to know how to fix this problem....but some of you are.  When I experienced it, I simply hit the history list button and chose the page I wanted, rather than hitting the "back" button.  Perhaps it's a firewall or security setting adjustment..

Huddler reports it is a known issue they thought they had solved.  They reopened the ticket and are working on this. 

 

Meanwhile...back back back back back back back back back Home.
