I began trying on new boots yesterday at a lock shop in Portland, OR. Currently in Salomon Force 9 Equipe Boots with my custom footbeds. ABSOLUTELY love these boots! But it's time a for a new boots. The fitter told me yesterday, there was no way to know the flex of these boots. His guess was somewhere around 100? I am 50 y/o male, 6'1", 225lbs and a strong, all mountain advanced skier. I ski about 15-20 days season. I tried on the Salomon CS100, Tecnica Demon 100, and the Atomic Hawx 100 and 110. The Atomics fit the best overall. Size tried was 28. I have pretty average shaped and size feet with no special needs. Reading online about boots, etc. - it gets pretty confusing and it's difficult to shell out $500-$700 for boots not knowing if they're the ones! I guess I am not sold on what I tried on yesterday completely and am open to input. Thank you for any ideas or direction!

the reason no one has answered is it is impossible for us to know as well. buying boots is about fit. They are all comparable quaility when you are comparing price points. So best thing is to work personally with a fitter, compare boots during shell fit instead of try on and go from there.
