Help chooseing Doughters Christmass skis?

Ive narrowed it down to 3 skis for my 14 year old doughter. She is a K2 racer in Canada BC. We get some good powder days hear and she only has 3 sets of race skis . SL,GS.SG skis. She is 5.1 140lbs. Very good skier ranked in Provintial Comps. She needs a powder ski or{soft Snow ski} for those free days when she skis with Me her dad and her Brother. We ski hard and lots of tree skiing in 6 inches to foot deep 50% of the 60+ days a season. i ski EP pros and my sons on JJ,s. She tryed her brothers JJ,s once and thought they were to wide. The Blizzard Crush in a 163 looks intersting I thought for her? Also the line Celeberty 100 and the Black perl by Blizzard? Delema!! Im really leaning toward the crush 2012 purple ski. Her fun ski jacket is a purple and white HH Velocityii.rolleyes.gif Girls gota match ya know.biggrin.gif

So what you all think? Theres very little info on the Crush. But what I did find was it ranked #1 for womens powder ski last year and ranked as editor pick as an All mountain offering this year. Sounds versitile. The Perl might be to narrow for her wieght I was thinking but over all seems like a great ski if she was 120 or less? The Cleberty 100 looks about right but the Crush just seemed to have the same flex maybe a bit softer but not much and very good Blizzard quality. I just flexed them back to back at the shop. The Crush with binding I can get a real good deal on over the lines also. 100 bucks cheeper for the crush with binding. I also like the fact we could put an AT binder on down the road. I know theres a million other skis but between these 3 only what would you think would be a good soft snow/kneee deep powder ski for her. Apretiate any coments on this. Thanks in advance.

Go for the Crush ,

I have it in the  One in 177 and it was a blast in powder and trees I'm 6' 200lbs. Got the Crush (which is same as the One but less stiff) in 170 for my daughter she is 5'2" 115lb, she has not got a chance to use it yet but I'm sure it will be a good fit even though it might seem long they ski pretty short. Very versatile ski will work on the groomers but it shines in powder/trees/bumps it can make quick turns when needed. Plus the all important part is the color match for her outfit!

Yep color.biggrin.gif I think the crush also. 163 might be short for her I dont know? If anything they will be more turny. Our tree skiing is very tight up hear and the mountains not to big mountain. Smaller technical lines. She might like the manouverability the head hight ski offers? The correct length based on her Hight, ability {Expert} and weight came in at 163cm on the chart. 5ft nothing. At 5.2 your doughters 170 should be right on the mark if you have larger runs with bowls to ski. We just have 1200-1400 vertical hills with lots of trees and deep powder. I struggled with the lenght thing. 163-170??????  Most of the runs you cant run side by side. One pass two at the most with the groomer wide. Short turns only. Hears the Jacket to match.100_blizzard_crush_ski_rental.jpg  biggrin.gif  helly-hansen-womens-velocity-ii-jacket-skijacke-deepviolet-gr.-s-hh.61194.120.s(2)_z1.jpg

Nice , she is going to have a great Xmas. She'll have fun on either length ski, just have to work the 170's a bit more if you go that route. Don't expect a rocker type ski to lock on instantly like a SL or GS , have a more smeary type of feel but on groomers you can dig trenches just a bit more patience is needed for edge engagement. She will need some purple goggles and helmet now.

Maybe I'll sell her my helmet; it's perfect, even has some purple on it.

If she's not a better spellur than yuu, get her some help in that deportement. That post was too painful to read.

Oh, and color (or colour - you live in a crown colony so we'd let that one slide).

Actually, I'm really not selling  -- I bought it for $25 new, best deal ever, and I like it. I couldn't in good conscience charge more than I paid, but I couldn't replace for $25, either. It's the Smith Allure in Aqua Muse, good luck with google. I think they have another teal version this season (mine is past season), but not sure if it has purple. Nice helmet because it's very light and comfy, but it doesn't have much venting. You can take off the ear pieces, though. I'm not a huge sweat-er, so that doesn't bother me.

Well if you can find that helmet she'll be much more fashionably coordinated than most of the teens I see. By the way, good luck finding the teal pants she'll need next.

My daughter is the same age and about the same weight.  I picked up a pair of 173 Atomic Heaven 'N' Hells for her last spring, because they were a steal ($200).  They have some tip rocker and a nice long turn radius.  She totally dug them over July 4th weekend.

Pants! Pants!! OMG i forgot about those things.biggrin.gif Quit putting things in my head and money out my pocket.biggrin.gif Kidding she has some green Roxy pants she insists on always wearing. That will do for now. Maybe ill find a helmet with teal,Purple and green and save 250 bucks on pants later? Hmmm.beercheer.gif

So the Crush looks like the ski Ill be getting her. She might not like it at first with the rocker? Hopefully when she can ski it with some powder she will like it more?

Shes perfectly happy ripping groomers and will always go back to groomed runs I'm sure by afternoon. That's why I didn't want to get carried away with to much rocker and width. The Bonified looks sweet also might be to burly at 102 at the waist though? Maybe in a few years when she is 16 or so. We will see if she grows any taller. She hasn't grown in height in 4 years. She is exactly 163cm tall same as the Crush ski I'm looking at. This ski was my gut first impression ski so most likely should go with that.
