POC Skull X helmet Alternative Needed

Need a kids helmet and thought I had solved it with a POC Skull X size 55/56. Got it home and realized it has no goggle clip and since it is for a 7 year old this is going to not work as the goggles will end up on a lift line somewhere.  Any suggestions -poc worked because it fit the profile of the side of his head (narrower chin).  Anything that normally fits the top of hid head is too wide at the ears and jaw.  BTW has to be hard sides for racing.

Old helmet was a Rossi (orange and black kids) that was based on the kids Carrera (that had the racing checks on the sides), which had been his first helmet.  Even on the Rossi for the first year I had to pad out the jaw area with helmet pads to snug it up.

Thanks

Start searching for an aftermarket goggle clip. I recently saw something on a goggle manufacturers website, although I can't remember which one. It was a basic clip that stuck to the shell with double sided tape.

If you cant locate one, how about using velcro? A strip of the hook tape on either side of the goggle strap with a wider strip of the loop tape over the top to hold it in place. You'd never have to worry about losing them as there is some very tenacious velcro out there.

Very good.  Velcro tape idea is clever, Mcctskierguy.

Actually POC has goggle clips that press in between the shell and lining. I was given one for free when I asked at a POC retailer. POCs also have a patch of black rubbery material at the back that are designed to hold the goggles on with friction IF the goggle strap has silicone on it. You can put a flat bead of silicone on the goggle straps. This works fine for me, but I too would be worried about that as a solution for the 7 year old. I'd ask around for the clip.

A aftermarket goggle retaining clip like Goggle Stop will probably work even better in conjunction with the Velcro strap in back idea.

Thanks every one for the good ideas -doubt if I could have found another helmet that would have fit.

Good idea.  For a clean look could stick a patch under the strap and sew a corressponding one to the underside of the goggle strap.

Called the retailer and it was supposed to have one.  Picked it up today -I think they take the bag o' parts out to keep them from walking away.  Really flimsy though, if it breaks will probably go the velcro route.

Never saw it before, thanks.  I did notice that with the new googles he got that they had the 'silicone like' backing, and when you lift them up onto the helmet brow the straps make quite the dogleg on the sides.  Clip probably a good option for the non 'silicone' backed straps.
