I loved my K2 Apache Xplorers, now what?

Hello, fellow skiers, I seek you help for choosing my next pair of skis.

As the title says, the Xplorers (174 I think) were my favorite skis ever, but now they are due to be replaced.  I think the Rictor was introduced as the successor, but it seems from the user comments that this ski is quicker and more aimed as the combo grommer/powder ski.

I don't ski groomers.  I seek powder.  I'm from the East, I ski Jay Peak most of the time, and I go there for the awsome tree skiing.  When not is the trees, I'm in bumps.  As you guessed it, I am a short-radius kind of skier. I usually take a trip out West every year.

I really want to stick to K2.  Anything else I've skied in the past was a disappointment.

Thanks!

Why not a HardSide (98mm underfoot)?  Enough float for eastern pow, will still hold on hard surfaces underneath. Tradeoffs are not great quickness edge to edge in bumps (if this is a major criterion, the SideShow is 90mm underfoot), and some sink when you hit deep pow on your trips west but all things considered these are livable compromises for the performance you want on a daily basis.

I second the Hardside.  I skied it in the east last year in all conditions.  Not a carving machine but a good all-rounder.

I have not skied these but moving from the 84 waist to a 98 plus significantly less side-cut is significant. Consider the Sideshow with the 90 and a little less side-cut. I think Xplorers came in 170 and 177 lengths. If you have the 170s try the 174 Sideshow with rocker, if the Xploreres are 177s go up to the 181 Sideshows.

Thank you all.  I think I'm getting the Sideshow 174 finally.  Sound like the perfect ski.
