How about Lindsey?

Definitely kicking some ...

I was pretty perturbed by the email I received Monday from Skiing.  It had a headline that read "Big Weekend for US Men's Team."  You gotta be kidding me!  They changed the headline on their website to "for US Ski Team," but there was nary a photo of the women, let alone Lindsey.  Sorry, while it's big news that Bode won and Ted got a second, Lindsey has just won 4 in a row and is the first American to do so.

There was a great profile in the Denver Post today, along with a photo of her doing a Tebow at the podium.  She said she had to represent.  Could also be that she is evidently "just friends" with Tebow's brother...

..... As well, both of her downhill victories last weekend at Lake Louise broke the previous record for largest margin of victory in a woman's downhill race.  She was certainly the biggest news on World Cup last week, by far.

Chemy Alcott was a eurosport commentator for the Women's SG at Beaver Creek yesterday.  I loved it when she said that "women have balls" or something to that effect  biggrin.gif .

Lindsey is proving herself to be on a whole other level in the DH, kinda Stenmarkish.

Here’s her season so far:

10/22/11            Soelden , Austria            Giant Slalom     1st

11/26/11            Aspen , CO                    Giant Slalom     12th (skiing with injury)

11/27/11            Aspen , CO                    Slalom              Did Not Start (injury)

12/2/11             Lake Louise , Canada      Downhill            1st

12/3/11             Lake Louise , Canada      Downhill            1st

12/4/11             Lake Louise , Canada      Super G            1st

12/7/11             Beaver Creek, CO            Super G            1st

I figured she’d never win again after her leg injury before the Olympics.

I figured she’d never win again after she went all “Hollywood” after the Olympics.

I figured she’d never win again after coming within inches of throwing it into the fence at 80 mph at Cortina and scaring the hell out of herself.

I figured she’d never win again after her concussion.

I figured she’d never win again after Maria beat her to the WC Overall.

I figured she’d never win again after announcing her divorce.

You’d think I’d learn.  The woman is beyond belief.

The divorce will probably make her stronger this season.  She's thrown her entire focus and energy into racing.

Funny...

I hope she changes her name back to Kildow. Much better name. Too bad she got famous as Vonn - it will be hard to give up that name recognition.

Have you noticed the thread title?  She's most famous as Lindsey.

Anyway, it looks like kicking butt on WC circuit is her therapy.

Does anyone know what's the earliest in the season that someone locked in on the overall globe?  She may be heading for that record.

People liked that she "Tebowed"??? I hadn't even heard of this craze until I was at the Beaver Creek races last week and a Denver friend explained it. Is she joking or are we going to start seeing ski racers point at the sky or otherwise act like jackasses after a win like you do in so many American pro sports?

Following the same theory will Chis Humphries be league MVP and take the Nets to the finals this season?  Vonn would be the best with or without a husband as long as the rest of her life is still focused.
