Hello all. Just joined and first post for me though I've read from afar for some time.
I'm getting back into the swing of things after a long hiatus. A little about me: 44 yrs old, 5'10", 230 (though I'm losing weight - no really!), former ski racer (GS) and instructor (certified at 17 yrs old).
I got back out on skis last year for the first time in nearly 12 years, and surprisingly I'm still pretty good. I live in MD and primarily ski the East, with my most frequent trips being to Snowshoe and Timberline resorts.
Both my young daughters are gaining interest in the sport and I'm purchasing equipment for us all this year. I want a ski I can push a little from time to time, mostly on the groomers, but one that's forgiving enough to be on all day. I've narrowed down to a couple of selections, but I'm trying to balance performance with $, especially since I'll be lucky to get 3 or 4 full weekends in on an annual basis. I've honed in primarily on the Blizzard Men's Magnum 7.6 Iq Skis With Tp12 Bindings 11 and would like to know if any of you have an opinion.
Last year I demo'd the Volkl AC 30's and loved them, and I'm told (by many) that these would be a great fit as well. I can buy them for around $499.
I was also told to check out the Atomic Smoke Ti's, and I've always been a fan of K2 products as well. I'm open for any comments and suggestions and thank you all in advance for your advice.
