POC Helmets

Thread Starter

So I'm watching the Worlds over the past few weeks, and it seems a wide number of folks are using POC helmets.  What's the deal? How do they compare with helmets like the Giro G10 (which is what I am considering).

I don't find a lot of reviews or opinions on them.   If you've already gone through this, please send me the link to the thread.

Thanks!

They're race helmets. Great protection, very little venting. They make some rec models, but I still find them not sufficiently vented. Plus they fit round melons better than oval melons in my experience.

Daughter races and wears one.  They're sort of "in" these days.  They don't fit me.  Plus I think they look like Easter eggs.  smile.gif

Expensive, but have one of the highest FIS approved safety ratings.  They also sponsor lots of WC racers so that younger racers will buy their gear.

I like my custom painted yellow POC. This will be my 3rd season in it. It's light weight and it does get noticed by some of the race kids. I have the $150.00 version.

I have skied the bug receptor for the last couple of years.  ot has a visor and a couple of  scoop type vents on the sides. mine is not FIS as it has the visor and soft ear covers but it uses the same kevlar  technology in the shell.  I like the looks,( a bit motocross) the fit is good and the weight is low.  I'm not a big fan of the bicycle look. and when I crash in the light Utah powder I don't like my helmet to fill up with snow.  I would recomend it to a friend.
