Another source- if you are looking for a pair of cruiser skis, there were a pair of 3 or 4 year old Volant supercarves, (175 or thereabouts, I think) still in plastic, never mounted for $50.00 at the Christy Sports outlet in Frisco on Sunday.
How about free?
I have a lot of good old straight skis in that size w/bindings.
I would be happy to give them to someone who will use them....
You would have to get binding checked.
What is your sex, age & ability? Boot size too.
I am in Breckenridge & you could come & get.
Give me your stats & I'll see what will work for you.
Let me know.
I have 2 pairs-
Both 180cm [thought they were shorter]
1. PRE M4S w/ salomon 457 demo binding. Good cond.
Definte old school straight soft intermediate ski. FREE.
2. Rossignol Viper S w/marker M44 demo binding. Good cond.
Vintage when "shapes" were just taking off, has slight "shape"
Considered a great, easy slalom/bump ski in it's day.
The better of the 2. FREE.
As far as learning on staight vs. shaped - I believe you should first see if you even like the sport regardless of the equipment.
I still use straight skis for rock skis & can still rip 90% of skiers out there on them. I still love them.
So, I am just offering free skis whether you use them or throw in to local ULLR bonfire.
I shall not be liable or warranty any thing concerning this. Of course.
Let me know.
