Hi skiers!

I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I'm finally getting back to the slopes after 10 years. I grew up in Steamboat Springs, CO and was able to ski home at the end of the day. I also skied many of the other Colorado ski areas once I got my driver’s license. I went to WSC of Colorado close enough to Crested Butte and Monarch ski areas to drop my GPA a bit. In the 90's I lived in Central Italy where I skied the Apennines and the Alps on a regular basis. When I returned to Colorado, I ended up in Denver and skied mostly Winter Park, Copper Mt and Vail occasionally. Somehow life and work got in the way of my favorite pass time. I decided this year everything else will have to wait. I'm back with an Epic Pass. I have Sundays and Mondays off from work and I'll be hitting the slopes.

I know skis have made a big leap since I last purchased in '95. Even 10 years ago my skis got strange looks (205 Dynastar downhill skis and I'm 5'8"). I'm thinking the boots I purchased in '01 are probably OK. They are fitted Langes. Let me know if I'm wrong. I'm checking craigslist for skis since I have a limited budget. I plan on getting some suggestions here once I have it narrowed down. I think I'll enter the win a new pair of Rossi's contest, but that's a long shot.

Anything else I should know after a 10-year absence?

Cheers,

Steve
