Looking for new skis to replace my Atomic metron 9 164 cm

First, my apologies for making another ski recommendation thread.

I am 38, 5 ft 5 in, 145 lbs.

Solid level 7 trying to get to level 8.

I mostly ski at the Lake Tahoe area around 10 days/year.

I ski mostly on piste. (80% ~ 90% on piste)

What I enjoy the most is fast long radius turns ripping through the groomers. I venture out to woods when the slopes get too crowded or the weather gets bad. I seldom do bumps.

For the past 6 years, I have been skiing on Atomic metron 9. Recently, as get faster, I felt the skis are not as stable as before. Right now I am considering Volkl AC 30 163 cm, but many of the reviews here suggest that it might be too stiff for a small guy like me.

I would welcome any suggestions.

Thanks.

get something in the 80s waist, i recommend the blizzard bushwacker if you want a more carve oriented ski that can still venture off the groomer, and will give ya more choices and stability. I'd go longer as well, ~170cm.

Another option is the rossignol cx 80, dynastar sultan 85.

all great skis.

Thanks for the suggestions. Wouldn't 170 cm too long for my height? I guess it might be ok if I don't do bumps....

By the way, AC 30 also has 80 mm waist.

then the ac30 might be an ok ski. 170cm isn't too long for your height. though others could speak to it better for your height, although you are a male and i take it fairly atheletic.
