Hi guys, so I am in a bit of a predicament concerning my boots. I am 6'2 190lbs 17 years old and level 7 or 8 skier. It's not that I am having tons of trouble with my boots now, but it's more the question skiers are constantly asking themselves, "Can I do better?". I am currently on Nordica Speedmachine 10's, from the either 07/08 or 08/09, and have never had any trouble at all flexing them. In fact, at times I almost feel that they are too easy to flex. With XMas coming up I originally considered undergoing the boot purchasing process for the first time (as I bought my Speedmachines one-day used with original liners on a budget a few years back). I have custom footbeds in them but they're nothing special either. But considering the boot buying process would probably put me something like 800-900 dollars in the hole (I would go to a good bootfitter), I began to think otherwise. This brings the question, (a) should I buy quality liners this year followed by new boots next year, or should I rather just buy boots and liners in one sitting, (b) should I even be looking at new boots/ liners considering the fact that I am not having a great deal of trouble with my current setup (this is more to help improve my skiing rather than to fix a problem)?, (c) if I should get liners, what kind would all of you recommend, and how should I do it (DIY, by a bootfitter???). I realize there's a lot of questions here but I would greatly appreciate any input from you guys, as the boot buying process in relatively new to me and I am nearly clueless on this matter.
Thanks for any input/ ideas,
