Ski-n-See

Hi,

So I got the coupons in the mail and one of them caught my eye, %20 off any single non-sale item. I was wondering if this ment I could use it towards a pair of skis like Salomon Czar or Blog which everybody sells for $599.99 and I didn't check but it probably even says $599.99 on the company website for each of these. However go to Ski-n-See's website and according to them everything is on sale as far as skis. It lists that The Salomon rocker 2 ski is on sale for $749 but the "List" price is $935 so would that mean i couldn't use that coupon towards any ski for that matter? Are these guys jackin up the MSRP so that they can say there skis are on sale so noone can use that particular coupon??? I called them asked them this and he said I would have to come in and talk to the buyer.... Pfff  I don't know but I think this is a local Utah company so anyone living in Utah and knows the answer to this, fill me in. I might call em back and have the guy go talk to the buyer, but they should have at least said 20% off any item under $250 or something.

Thanks

The answer is as easy as picking up your phone and calling them.  They are the ones who can give you the correct answer.

I called ack and I am not sure the lady understood my question but she said I could use it towards Czar's so the %20 off the 599.99 price but It does seem a little strange they would sell that ski to me for 470 or whatever it would come to.

I dunno, I got my Prophet 100's last spring at REI here in UT for $279 new or something close to that. I combined a small coupon like yours with a "sale" price as well. Didn't get quite as lucky with the boots though. rolleyes.gif

I am going to go in and ask if they can take %20 off the 599.99 and argue that their "List" price has got to be made up because no retailer store or online sells the czar ski for 750 dollars and apparently if this is true all of their skis are "on-sale"

Most shops mark up anywhere from 40 - 60% so if they're just trying to get people into the shop it's not like they're going to lose money on it.  Enjoy your discount...

It shouldn't. It's a sale. They're trying to move product and generate traffic. So then you're going to go and ask them to sell it for 20% off full retail ($750 + ) when they've offered it 20% off the in store price of 599.99? Is a visit to the math teacher in order? Honestly, get your parents in the loop on this stuff. This is a lot of money for a young person to be spending sale or not without their input. 20% off 599 is a fair price for the beginning of the season. Sure, next fall you might find it cheaper if it hasn't sold this season or over the summer, but then you'll be another year older and wondering why you worried about skis all winter.

I just called em back to clarify and ultimately they told me to come in and talk to the buyer (which i would rather do anyways) but I can not use that coupon towards skis that would have to be pre-ordered but there is a chance the skis I am looking for are being shipped to the store. he said all of the skis with orange tags (which i guess means they are considered on-sale compared to their made up retail price or the legit full MSRP I don't know) can not be bought with the 20% off even though the ski is marked at the in store price which all of the other online retailers and stores have them marked at. Maybe I will go talk to the buyer in the store and ask if they have any of the skis I am looking for coming into the shop between now and Christmas and if so, could I use the %20 off because he seems to be the man in charge and the one to talk to. however I can use a %10 off ANYTHING in the store but that would bring them down to 540 and then tax would bring it right back to around 580 so really no point there.
