So we (my dad and his friend, my girlfriend and I and our two dogs) are planning a trip to Tahoe the last week in March. Probably 6-7 days. Dad and friend are nearing 60, prefer mostly blues but can ski about anything as long as it's not all day everyday. I'll ski w/ them most of the time but I also like steeps and trees. They've done Tahoe before and spent most their time at Squaw and Heavenly. Few questions:

1. We'll be driving from Denver and picking up dad in Reno (he's coming from Ohio). Should we take I70 to 50 or just go north and take 80 the whole way? Mileage and times look fairly similar on google maps but just wondered if anyone has done the drive or has advice.

2. We have the epic local pass. Should we stay in Truckee and ski mostly Northstar and hit Squaw for a day or two? Or should we stay in south Tahoe and ski Heavenly with a few days Kirkwood? How big of a pain is the drive between Truckee and Heavenly?

3. GF might not ski every day. Know any good dog friendly places around? They're saint bernards so they love cold water and would definitely be down for a dog friendly beach in the area. Any dog friendly restaurants or is there no chance of it being warm enough to eat on a patio by then?

4. Anyone want to meet up on the slopes?
