WTB: All Mountain Ski for Advanced Skier

30 year old skier with 20+ years of Alaska skiing.  Going to school on the east coast right now and don't like bringing skis back and forth.  6'2", 200lbs, advanced skier that charges the fall line.  Interested in 180cm+ and prefer more of a slalom to GS style. Looking to spend up to $250 for ski/binding combo in good condition, but would also be interested in lower priced skis with repairable damage to base/sides and cosmetic damage to top.  Thanks!

I would recommend something like a nonFIS recreational slalom ski from a couple years back if you can find one.  250 is a pretty low budget so I'm not sure how far you will be able to go with that but I think that is your best option.  Also, where do you do most of your skiing (on/ off piste, groomers/trees/bumps)?

You probably want to choose one or the other.  I haven't seen many 15m 180cm skis of late.

With a $250 budget, you're presumably going used.  Although you could get close by combining these and these.

Yeah rec. slaloms normally only go up to 170 so that's something you would need to decide.

Sorry, realized that wasn't phrased very well -- sounded like I wanted a combo between slalom and GS -- should have said I prefer a slalom rather than a GS ski.

Yes, definitely going used unless I find some sort of crazy deal.  Would be willing to go above 250 for the right set, but as tuition alone is 50k, I'd definitely need to really like the ski.

Thanks for the suggestion!

That was how I understood it.  Again, though, 180+cm SL skis don't really exist these days.  Maybe a used Fischer Progressor?  I picked up a pair for $160 yesterday in great condition.  I'd suggest a Stockli Stormrider XL, but they're more GS than SL.

Fischer Progressor 9, or Fischer RC 4 WC RC would do..The radius would be in 17-18m range/for 180's/...

Pricewise a little hard to find for $250, but doable if you have time...GL.
